The Witcher 3’s Next-Gen Update Has Been Delayed
Arguably the biggest story of the day was the delay of The Witcher 3’s next-gen version for PS5 and Xbox Series X. CD Projekt announced the delay earlier today via the official Witcher Twitter account, explaining that development of the update has been moved in-house and that it has been postponed “until further notice.” Unfortunately, a potential release window was not disclosed, so it looks like we’ll have to wait a little longer before we get to see Geralt in 4K on consoles.
No Man’s Sky Announces Outlaws Update With More Ships And Pirate Missions
Hello Games has announced a new expansion for No Man’s Sky which is set to completely revamp the game’s space combat systems. The Outlaws update – which is available to download right now – brings with it a host of new changes including improved space combat, rebalanced weapons, and the ability to create your own fighter squadrons. This new update will also let you live out your wildest space pirate fantasies as you can now visit Outlaw bases scattered across the galaxy to help take down frigates.

Disney Has Shut Down Club Penguin Rewritten, Website Taken Over By The Police Intellectual Property Crime Unit
While not the biggest story, it’ll definitely be the wildest you’ll hear today. Club Penguin Rewritten – the fan made version of Club Penguin that was made after the official version shut down – has been shut down by Disney and its website has been seized by the police. This is apparently because the game’s website had started running ads, meaning that money was being made off the back of one of Disney’s properties. Disney probably wasn’t too pleased by a potential copyright infringement and has shut the thing down entirely.
Sony And Nintendo Change Auto-Renewal On Subscriptions
Next up, we have some good news for ny of you who have been burned by auto-renewal as Sony and Nintendo are altering their guidelines on how it actually works. Now if you forget to cancel your auto-renewal with a PlayStation Plus subscription, you won’t actually be charged unless PlayStation sees you’re actively using the service. For Nintendo, the company has just decided to have auto-renewal turned off as a default, having subscribers manually turn it on instead.
California Governor Accused Of Interfering In Activision Blizzard’s Discrimination Lawsuit
Finally, we have some serious news regarding Activision’s discrimination lawsuit being conducted by California’s Department of Fair Employment and Housing. According to Melanie Proctor, a lawyer who has recently resigned, the state’s governer – Gavin Newsom – has been “interfering” with the lawsuit and has been accused of “mimicking the interests of Activision’s counsel.” Proctor’s resignation comes shortly after her boss, Janette Wipper, was “abruptly terminated” after allegedly pushing back against Newsom’s interference.
