Nelson Mandela is joining the metaverse with a project designed to “amplify African voices” that will include digital art collections and a holographic gala.
The Mandela family’s Long Walk to Freedom brand is launching A Long Walk to Meta: Mandelaverse, which it describes as “guided by the principles and virtues” of the late South African leader. The metaverse is a virtual reality online world spearheaded by Mark Zuckerberg, and allows Mandela’s large feuding family to cash in on his legacy.
