BEIJING, April 6 (Xinhua) — Consumers worldwide spent big on mobile games on Google Play and the App Store in the first quarter of 2022, according to an industry report.
The total spending on mobile games reached 22 billion U.S. dollars in the January-March period globally, marking a surge of 42 percent from the same period in 2020, data from global app market data provider Data.ai showed.
China, the United States and Japan are the largest global markets for consumer spending on the App Store and Google Play, the report said.
Consumers in the Asia Pacific region saw the strongest spending growth on iOS devices, said the report, adding that their spending rose 10 percent quarter on quarter in the first quarter this year. ■
