Generations: Matter Of Balance Classes Forming | News | Washtimesherald.com – Washington Times Herald

A MATTER OF BALANCE CLASS TO BE HELD AT GOOD SAMARITAN HOSPITAL IN VINCENNES: A Matter of Balance is designed to reduce the fear of falling and increase activity levels among older adults. Participants learn to set realistic goals to increase activity, change their environment to reduce fall risk factors, and learn simple exercises to increase strength and balance. Generations’ in partnership with Good Samaritan Hospital will be offering A Matter of Balance: Managing Concerns About Falls at the Good Samaritan Hospital Cancer Pavilion, 520 S. Seventh St., Vincennes, beginning Monday, April 4 and continuing each Monday through May 23. Classes will be held from 1 p.m. to 3 p.m. This 8-week program is offered free of charge, but pre-registration is required. Spots are limited! DINE WITH A DOC® RETURNING IN APRIL: Senior Education Ministries, in partnership with Generations and Vincennes University, will be presenting Dine with a Doc® on Wednesday, April 6, from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. at Vincennes University’s Governor’s Hall – Trailblazer Room, 20 W Indianapolis Ave, Vincennes, IN. PLEASE NOTE LOCATION CHANGE FROM PREVIOUS PROGRAMS. The program is free to the public, and a free lunch sponsored by ProRehab will be provided with dessert courtesy of Mom’s Meals. This month’s speaker will be Brittany Attebury OTD; Brittany is a Doctor of Occupational Therapy at ProRehab. This program provides the opportunity to fellowship with peers while receiving valuable information from our medical community. VIRTUAL HEALTHY LIVING PROGRAM TO BEGIN SOON: Generations, Area 13 Agency on Aging partnering with Deaconess clinic and the University of Southern Indiana, is offering the six-week program, “Living a Healthy Life with Chronic Conditions” online at no cost to individuals living with chronic disease or their caretakers. This program begins March 30th. Two time slots are available; 10-12:30 Eastern Standard Time and 4-6:30 Eastern Standard Time. This self-management program is for individuals with chronic health problems such as diabetes, heart disease, respiratory disease, arthritis, etc. There is no fee to participate and all materials and resources are provided. Registration is required as the class is limited to 15 participants. Participants must have a computer with a camera and microphone.
