A project to expand a portion of FM 725 from Zipp Road to FM 78 began the week of Dec. 6 and will widen the road from two to four lanes and install a median, sidewalks and bike lanes, according to the Texas Department of Transportation.
The $10.38 million project is expected to last until early 2024, depending on weather conditions, according to TxDOT.
Following the completion of the project, work will begin to widen a section of FM 725 from Zipp Road to the Comal-Guadalupe County line. The project is expected to take 36-42 months and is estimated to cost $10.6 million in TxDOT funding.
