(Seguin) – Voters are reminded that early voting continues throughout this weekend. Polls, however, will be closed Monday, Feb. 21 due to the President’s Day holiday. Since Monday, when early voting began for the March 1, 2022, Republican and Democratic Primary, there has been a total of 2,242 votes cast for both ballots.
The election features the gubernatorial race along with a host of other statewide and county races.
Voters are reminded that upon entering the polling location, they will have to choose a ballot in which to cast. That’s because during this round, candidates will be looking to secure their nominations for either the Republican or Democratic party.
The winners of the Primary, if contested, will then face off with their challenger in November.
Early voting will be held today from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.; Saturday, Feb. 19 from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. and Sunday from noon to 6 p.m.
Again, after Monday’s holiday, the early voting schedule will resume on Tuesday. Feb. 22 and will run through Friday, Feb. 25 from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m.
Any registered voter in Guadalupe County may vote early at any one of the following locations. They include the Seguin Elections Office; Cibolo Fire Station #2; Central Texas Technology Center; Redemptive Grace Ministries; New Berlin City Hall and the Schertz Elections Office Annex.
Voters will need to use their photo IDs when arriving at the polling location. Individuals can use an expired license if less than four years.
Sample ballots may also be brought in to help the voter cast their electronic ballot. Sample ballots are currently available on the county election website or are available for pick up at the election’s office.
